It's been a busy few days around here so I'm going to lump everything into one posting...
On Thursday Ava graduated from preschool. It's bittersweet for her to be leaving the school she has attended for 3 years now. I'm glad that Maddux will be going next year because I would really miss the school. They put on a really cute graduation program guaranteed to make all the mommies tear up. They had a slideshow of the all the kids with a baby picture, a candid photo from the school year and then their graduation photo. The kids sang a few songs and even played a song on the recorder! Afterwards there was a cake and lemonade reception. Ava is excited about going to kindergarten next year, I think she's good and ready.

After graduation Ava chose to eat at Fatz for lunch. She always wants to eat there, and it's just not a place we eat too often so she was very happy. After lunch we headed down to Rock Hill to get our new van! We traded in our 03 Odyssey for a new 08 Odyssey. I'm so excited about it. We probably could have driven our old one for a few more years, but we decided to go for the new safety features and trade-up while our old one still had good value. We got a really sweet deal which made it possible, and a good decision. The kids are very excited about it. Especially the 3rd seat which has already become the toy basket holder. :)
Since we were already in Rock Hill we decided to stop by Kevin's sisters house. We ended up staying for pizza and didn't get home until after 7pm. About 7:30 I realized I was supposed to go to a friends house at 8 for a Girls Night In movie night. 11 of us hung out for cake and popcorn at Carainn's house and to watch Circle of Friends. I, and I think everyone else too, had an excellent time. I ended up staying for hot tea and chatting with Carainn, her husband Barry, and Tracy until midnight! I haven't been up that late in a long time, at least not up that late having fun and not feeling like it's that late!

Friday we decided to drive over to Greenville, SC to go to the zoo. We hadn't been to that zoo in years, before we had kids even. It's a pretty small zoo and nothing like the zoo we normally go to, but it was still fun. Afterwards we went to downtown Greenville to their riverside park. Ava had fun stepping into the river and would have been soaked through and through if we would have let her. Greenville is a beautiful city. It's the kind of city we'd love to live in, but just it doesn't offer the job market that a place like Charlotte does. I regrettably didn't take my camera. That morning I was just thinking about the zoo and thinking that I didn't want to carry it around for more zoo pictures. I could have had some really great photos down by the river, but oh well. We were all hot and tired by the time we decided to come back home.
Saturday we grilled out and had Angel, Mark and the boys over. We ended up staying outside the entire time which was really nice as the kids didn't get all the toys out in the house. The kids played on the swingset and in the sandbox the majority of the time. I'm so glad we built the new swingset, it's way more fun than our old one was. Us grownups played a lot of cornhole. We still haven't finished painting our boards, but they worked fine all the same. We're going to leave them in the backyard for the summer so we can play more easily. Dinner was burgers, brats, hotdogs, potato salad, pasta salad, corn-on-the-cob, refridgerator pickles and applesauce with PB brownies and icecream for dessert. I think everyone had a really good time.

Today we bummed around the house in the morning and then went to Courtney's BBQ in Clover for lunch. I love the ribs there. This trip we bought a bottle of their Grilling sauce so we can grill some chicken here at home with it. Maddux fell asleep on the way home so we did some driving around looking at all the new neighborhoods in our area. We're again bumming around, I can hear Scooby Doo on in the family room and I'm goign to guess that Kevin is half asleep on the couch right now. I'm sure we'll be outside here in a bit.
Tomorrow is another day off for Kevin. I don't think we have any plans other than to hang out and enjoy the nice weather. I've also got to start getting ready for my big trip to Ohio next weekend.
