I learned about the Seven Things Project from a friend. The basic idea is to get rid of 7 things a week from your household without throwing much away. While I'm all for selling things and donating things, I'm also ok with throwing things away. So, I will do my best to donate everything I can, but my big idea for this project is to declutter my house and that will mean throwing some stuff away. On days it seems hard to find 7 things to eliminate you can easily break it down to one thing a day... that doesn't sound too hard at all. I'm going to try to follow her idea of posting my "Saturday Seven" which will be a list of the 7 things I've gotten rid of that week.
The Kidney Foundation calls me every couple months saying they'll be in the neighborhood to pick up donations so I'm probably going to rely on them to be my donation organization. It just doesn't get any easier than putting unwanted stuff on your front porch and having it disappear.
Anyone care to join me on this decluttering journey? I will probably need some motivation so if you feel like joining in please keep me posted about your "Seven Things". And if you don't see any "Saturday Seven" posts from me... ask me about it and help keep me on track! :)
I think I'm going to start in my closet... I have sweaters that I haven't worn the entire 6 years I've lived here. You just don't need warm sweaters in NC and they're all out-of-style by now anyway.
