Kevin bought a 65 Mustang a few years back. It was a really pretty car. It didn't need much work either, which made it perfect for him. With 2 kids though, it was hard for him to find the time to maintain it. Old cars need lots of maintanance or they go downhill fast. So, he and his dad decided to move it to his parents house. His dad has plenty of space for it and he likes old cars too so would do the necessary maintanance and tinkering.
2 weekends ago Kevin drove it to his parents. Well, he set out driving it... it sputtered out about halfway there (2 hour drive total). His dad and uncle came and towed it the rest of the way. That was a Sunday... just over a week later I got a phone call from Kevins mom. She said I wouldn't believe it, but that the Mustang had just burned. I seriously thought she was joking and that this was some sort of late April Fool's Day joke. But she was very serious. His dad was working on it, when he smelled gas. He looked up and the engine was on fire.
Worse part was, it was in his big barn which house other cars, tractors and tons of tools. They tried to put the Mustang out, unsuccessfully (went through 4 fire extinguishers, of which only 2 worked... so use that as a reminder to make sure yours are in working order). His dad had hooked a chain to the back of the Mustang and was ready to pull it out of the barn with his truck when the fire department got there. Fortunately they were able to push the Mustang out of the barn and the barn was spared. It would have been horrible for them to lose their barn.
I'm also really glad that if it had to catch fire that it wasn't in our garage where it had previously been parked. There's no way we would have been able to get it out before it caught our garage fire.
Anyway, just today the Mustang was declared a total loss. It only has a few salvagable parts.
RIP Mustang!
Some before pictures... it was a pretty car.

Amy,
I remember you showing me the mustang the last time I was over to your home. Thank God it was out of your garage :(
Sorry for Kevin your his family.
On another note, you can add it to your seven things list. :)
