Preschool

I had a great time subbing at preschool this week. It confirmed in me that I really would enjoy teaching there. I never really doubted that I would, but I had never experience subbing without Maddux before. Subbing with Maddux (back when he was 1) was always a long, stressful day for me. That was mostly due to him, and I knew that, but still. Getting to sub all week was really fun.

I was actually suprised to get called in. I only submitted my sub forms after christmas break. At that time the director said her sub list was already long and she wasn't sure she'd need me. But I'm the one that got the call to sub all week. I'd like to think this was a bit of a "test" to see how I did since they all know I'd like to teach there next year.

It was really nice to have a purpose this week, other than the daily basics of housework and my own kids. I've gotten kind of lazy this year having both kids in school and it hasn't been good for me. This week has made me feel that energy of doing something that's just for me. It was nice. Now I'll just cross my fingers they have a position come open for next year and that I can get the job. I don't have any education experience, so who knows how I'd stack up against other applicants.

YAY! I am so glad you were called and that you are enjoying it. I bet you are an awesome teacher. I would much rather have someone with no "formal" teaching education but a love for children and patience, teach my kids, than the most educated person with no real teaching "skills".

How fun!! I'm sure you'd make an awesome teacher! If you are interested in any other schools Pleasant Hill Preschool is looking for a 4's class lead teacher for next year (current teacher is expecting a baby) and a 4 an assistant teacher for the second 4's class and (expanding class size). At least that's what the director told me last week. Pleasant Hill is pretty great too and the new director is uber positive! Angie White and Amy Hanson are on the council if you need more info :)

I think Anderson really thought it was neat to have an "Amy" as his teacher....he's still trying to figure out how you and I can both be Amy.... Good luck. That's what I think I would like to do once everyone is in some sort of school. I have kept my certification up, but don't want to go back to teaching 4th grade full time.. Crossing fingers they will have an opening for you!
