Kindergarten Tour

I still can't quite wrap my head around the fact that Ava will be in Kindergarten next year. Her preschool class toured Lake Wylie today and she was so excited! They were supposed to walk there, but it was rainy so we dropped the kids off... guess that's a bit of a preview for next year for me too! They got to see a couple kindergarten classrooms and meet some teachers. They spent some time in the library and art rooms. And they even got to eat lunch there! The highlight of the day, for Ava at least, came at the very end and was a surprise. They were supposed to walk back to the preschool, but it was raining pretty hard so her teachers called back to the church and had the church bus come pick them up! So the kids got to take a real bus ride. I'm sure there will be parents in a fuss over the unplanned ride, but I think it was a pretty neat idea... much better than walking them home in the rain. Guess my baby isn't so much a baby anymore.
