Catch up

See, I'm already not using this like I thought I would... I was hoping that blogging would inspire me to take more pics of the kids and then I could write about them. I've been in a serious rut of not taking many pictures lately, and then when I do take them they end up sitting on my camera forever. I have taken some pictures, but they're still on the camera, and well, frankly, I don't want to go get the camera and upload them right now. lazy much?!

Anyway, I had an excellent weekend/beginning of the week. Easter morning was fun. The Easter Bunny leaves a trail of eggs starting from the kids beds to the top of the stairs and then the trail picks up again at the bottom of the stairs to their baskets in the family room (we don't put eggs on the stairs because in previous years the cats just knock them all down anyway). Maddux woke up first and was so excited that the eggs had candy in them. He was actually speechless as he sat munching on candy in our bed. We woke Ava up and then they followed the trail. The Easter Bunny definitely brought too much candy this year... guess that's what happens when he gets lots of candy coupons and starts shopping early! He also brought a croquet set, some new playdoh, window markers (so fun!), easter flavored chapsticks and new books. He also had the *great* idea to stuff new fun underwear for the kids in some of the eggs, that was not perceived as a good idea to Ava. :)

Kevin and I took the kids to his parents after things settled down and we came home alone! That meant I had Monday all to myself since Kevin was at work. I didn't get much done, but that's ok, I just wanted to be on my own schedule. I did go through the kids closets and pull out summer stuff from last year that doesn't fit anymore (which was pretty much everything). I didn't bag it up for my SIL yet, but at least there is room for new stuff in their closets now and I can better see what they need. I wanted to do a big toy cleanout too, but I didn't make it very far. I have a hard time purging toys. Maddux did great while there. He had a couple "I miss my Momma" moments but he was easily distracted and was a good sleeper while there. We'll definitely be planning more of these trips for the kids this summer!

Well, my Ipod is finished syncing so I'm off to do dishes and listen to new tunes! (Ava is at a friends and Maddux is snoozing)
