A lazy day

Today was so dreary... cold, misty and not a bit of sunshine in sight. These kinds of mornings always make it hard to get up. Maddux's cold feet snuggling into our bed helps with that though. :) Once we got up and moving it turned into a very trying morning.

Maddux had to pee but couldn't get his pajamas down for some reason. The inevitable happened and he peed all down his legs which led to many many tears. I got him cleaned up and in new pj pants and we all headed downstairs for breakfast. The kids have been having hot cocoa with breakfast all week and today was no different. Ava put on a new outfit from Grandma and the pants wouldn't stay up so I got out the sewing kit to make a tuck in the side. As I'm sitting there sewing them up Maddux spills his entire huge cup of cocoa. All down into his chair and then all over my floor. Again the tears erupted. Then Kevin comes down oblivious to all the madness and is pestering Ava about why she's not dressed and ready. Why do dads not see the little disasters? Once I pointed out the remaining splatters of cocoa he understood and helped me finish getting Ava ready so they could go. Geesh, it doesn't sound that bad writing it out, but it was definitely A LOT to deal with this morning, and all within about 30 minutes.

Maddux and I spent the rest of the day watching a ton of tv. We pretty much watched tv all day. oh well. It suited the weather, we snuggled up with a blanket and zoned out.

Now I'm making mini-muffins. Mini-muffins are very time intensive. Particularly when you only own one mini-muffin pan. I really need to get a 2nd one. Anyway, I just baked 100 pumpkin chocolate chip mini-muffins and cheated and made a pan of regular sized ones just to finish off the batter. I was out of mini muffin papers anyway.

I wanted to update with pictures from Tweetsie today, but alas, it was a lazy day. :)

sorry you had a rough morning (fwiw, Seb had the same problem this morning and peed all over our bathroom floor). At least your afternoon sounded nice and cosy... now you have me thinking about pumpkin choco chip muffins. Can you email me the recipe when you have some time (karen.d.freund@gmail.com)?

Thanks

I mean no disrespect, but I am laughing just a little, ONLY BECAUSE, I've been there! 30 minutes of drama can feel like 3 hours and it doesn't help when my husband walks in thinking he needs to take charge. I know the feeling. I also empathize with the 'lazy day'. There are days where we all just brush our teeth and stay in our jammies until bedtime; TV on zoning; eating whatever we want, regardless if it is healthy and then ordering pizza so we don't have to cook. Yup... been there, done that, will probably do it sometime this week. And I 2nd Karen's request for your muffin recipe. I'll be waiting so I can make them and have another 'lazy day'. :)
