We decided today to lower the price on our house. Our realtor mentioned it last week, and also mentioned that Mercedes was checking up with him about how many showings we've had lately... which would be none. This whole house-selling business sucks. LOL
Kevin and I aren't stupid, we realize we've had no showings. And that no showings means no new house. We've been pretty resigned to the fact that we would likely be letting the new house go at some point since it's not looking like we will sell anytime soon. And we are totally ok with that. I am totally ok with that. It's not our dream house by any means and there are other opportunities out there for when the time is right.
We've talked a lot over the last few weeks about how badly we want in the Mercedes home. We decided that we're not desparate to sell this house. We do not want to take a loss on it just to get out sooner. But, all that being said, Kevin talked to our realtor again today to tell him that we are not wanting to reduce the price just to sell. In all that conversation we decided to drop the price. LOL It's all such a game really. I just hope that the new price will get some people through the door again.
We're doing some minor redo's around the house this weekend. Yesterday we tore down some ugly wallpaper border in the downstairs bathroom and painted. I've hated the bathroom since we moved in, it just never made the top of the list of projects. We really should have at least taken down the paper and painted a long time ago, the paper came down so easily. So no more baby blue bathroom! I picked out a color called "Silver Sage". It's a light greenish-grayish-beigish color. I think it's much more modern, sticks with the general earth-tone neutral scheme we have in the rest of the downstairs without being too boring and neutral. We're also going to repaint my lime green laundry room (who knows what I was thinking when I chose that color 8 yrs ago, hahaha) and the kids bathroom upstairs. I think we're going to use the same color in all 3 rooms.
And we might get around to freshening up the paint in the foyer, up the stairs and the upstairs hallway too. The color is a light tan right now, but it was their when we moved in so it's old and would look nicer being touched up I'm sure. We'll see how tired of painting we are after the 3 small rooms get done first. LOL
Anyway, I just wish this chapter could be over already. I was super excited to move and build, then that simmered down to the point that I was/am happy to stay here awhile longer, and now with a lowered price I already feel myself getting excited to move and build again. What a rollercoaster!

Hold Strong and have hope! Our showings slowed down a lot right before we got outr offer that we went with. I know it's not worked out like you would like, but maybe with the price drop you will attract more buyers and get an offer soon! In the meantime, I think it's good that you have chosen to do some painting. It's therapeutic!!! (Don't know if I spelled that right!)
